Assessment matrix – oral presentations 10th grade

This is how we teachers think when deciding which grade to give to oral presentations or other oral activities.

Excellent flow and pronunciation

Advanced knowledge and understanding.

Well-chosen facts and figures

Includes everything in the project description

Clear structure, easy to follow.

Communicates effortlessly, even about complex subjects.

Talks clearly, with suitable speed.

No script (may glance very occasionally at keywords)

Good knowledge and understanding.

Includes many facts and figures

Includes everything in the project description

Clear structure, easy to follow.

Communicates well about most subjects.

Talks clearly, with suitable speed.

No script (may glance occasionally at keywords)

Some grammar errors, but no systematic ones

Good flow and pronunciation

Some knowledge and understanding (may be a bit superficial)

Includes some facts and figures

Includes most of what is in the project description

Pretty clear structure, can be a bit hard to follow.

Communicates well, except on complex subjects.

Can talk mumbly or a bit too fast. Can sometimes sound stiff and  “programmed”

Looks at the script relatively often, but without reading.

Limited vocabulary.

Some grammar errors, including systematic ones

Pronunciation is mostly correct

 

A little knowledge and understanding, but short and superficial

Includes some of what is in the project description

Messy structure, can be a bit hard to follow.

Communicates on simple subjects, but struggles to express himself/herself

Talks unclearly and/ or sounds stiff and  “programmed”

Looks at the script relatively often, but without reading.
